Latin capsicum chinense
This Moruga native is one of the Worlds spiciest peppers. Rated in 2011 by the Guinness Book of World Records to have a Scoville rating of 1,463,700. This pepper is no joke when it comes to heat but it is also a very tasty pepper. It's face melting heat is paired with a pleasant sweetness not often found in super hot peppers.
Growing super hot peppers takes a little more care than your average pepper. These usually have a lower germination rate and grow a little bit slower. Many super hot peppers have a maturity time that exceeds 100 days. This means that starting them early is imperative to success. We recommend that these peppers are started indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost. This type of intense heat takes extra time to mature. Plant in full sun for best results.
