Delphiniums are a great addition to any perennial garden. This tall and stately perennials deliver showy flower filled stocks that will become the focal point of your flower garden. Loved by humans and pollinators alike, delphiniums will bring hummingbirds and bees en masse to your garden. Use as a background flower or to enclose your borders. Mature height is approximately 5' and if cut back shortly after flowering you can expect a second flowering. The Pacific Giants Mix is a combination of blue, purple and pink flowers.
Growing delphiniums from seed is very easy. This tolerant perennial will adapt to most soil conditions and is tolerant of poor living conditions like heat and drought. Start these seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before last frost for best result. Germinate in a soilless growing medium at temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. These seeds do need stratification to germinate so plan to add them to your refrigerator prior to planting. Harden off sufficiently before planting them in their permanent home. Plant in full sun for best results.
