Growing zinnias from seed is very easy. The main consideration to make is that they don't love being transplanted. This is an important to consideration when deciding if you want to pre-start them or if you are going to direct sow. If you desire to get a head start on the season, ensure that you start them in pots that are plant-able like coconut coir or in plug format like peat pods. If you have a long enough season and are patient enough to direct sow, prepare garden bed by turning up compacted soil. Add any compost or manure prior to planting. Sow seeds into soil or pots and water in. Maintain moisture levels during the germination process. Plant in full sun for best results.
