This Thumbelina Mix is a grouping of yellow, pink, magenta and white flowers that will display both single and double flowers. With sturdy upright stems zinnias are a winner in any garden or pot. Zinnias thrive in hot weather. therefore this grouping makes a beautiful mixture for patio, deck or balcony containers. They will most certainly give you the boost of colour you are looking for. We recommend planting seeds directly into containers as they generally don't like developing roots to be disturbed. As with all plants grown in pots, use a light soil mixture for best results. When watering, water below leaf level to prevent issues with powdery mildew.

We recommend direct sowing into prepared beds but these can also be started early for those looking to get a head start on the season. If looking for a head start, begin indoor planting 4 weeks before last frost. Lightly cover with a growing medium and moisten the soil. Keep moist throughout the germination period. Once nighttime temperatures are above 10 degrees Celsius you can plant outside into a full sun location. Remember to avoid over-head watering of zinnias during the summer months as they are prone to powdery mildew.
