Marvel of Peru Four O'Clocks are a fragrant flowering shrub-like annual. The Marvel of Peru yellow is a lemon colored, fragrant flower that bloom in late afternoon. The trumpet shaped flowers have a strong sweet smelling fragrance that will last throughout the night until morning. Blooming across the entire season these flowers attract butterflies and hummingbirds alike. Place along walkways or borders so that passerby's can enjoy the marvelous smell. Four O'Clocks have a high level of resistance to disease. Will grow 2-3' tall if planted in full sun and cared for properly. They will self seed if properly maintained.
Growing Four O'Clocks from seed is very easy. To ensure a high level of germination soak seeds overnight the evening before planting. We recommend directly sowing these into your garden or planters but alternatively you can start them 4-6 weeks early for earlier blooms. Four O'Clocks are highly sensitive to frost so ensure that you harden them off before placing them outside and make sure the risk of frost has sufficiently passed.
