Watermelon Coleus

Latin plectranthus scutellariodes 'watermelon'

The Watermelon variety of coleus is well known for its ability to perform in both sun and shade locations. Will not fade out like most coleus when placed in sunny locations. This variety also flowers later in the season giving you more time with the beautiful foliage. Coleus is a great addition to your garden but is also an excellent house plant.

Growing coleus is easy but is best done indoors 8-12 weeks before last frost. Using a pre-wet soilless medium, thinly scatter seeds and press into surface. Do not cover as coleus needs light to germinate. Use bottom heat for these seeds for best results. Once germinated grow on at room temperature under grow lights.
