Latin phaseolus vulgaris
The Goldrush Bush Bean is a highly productive and dependable variety for the home garden. Yields 5-6" long, slender, yellow pods that are easy to pick on the compact plant. Beans hold their quality and texture longer than other varieties. These beans can also be used for canning and freezing.
Growing bush beans from seed is very easy. Beans are best directly sowed into the garden once the danger of frost has subsided. To avoid seed rot, ensure that the soil is warm and is not holding moisture for prolonged periods. Sow seeds 1-2" deep and 4-6" apart. Space rows 18" apart minimum. Using a garden inoculant can help increase yields, especially in new garden areas. Matures in 55 days.
