Latin salvia rosmarinus
A relative of mint this herb goes well with both meats and vegetables. Great for patio planters and indoor growing. This woody herb is a very rewarding experience to grow from seed. Although slightly challenging, it is a proud moment when you can harvest your very own rosemary for your favourite culinary dish.
Growing rosemary from seed is moderately challenging. The difficulty is that germination rates of the seed is relatively low (We will compensate for the lower germination rate by giving some extra seeds). Sow more seeds than you need to grow. We have grown rosemary from seed every season and we have found that using a heating mat will help. Grow in a very light germination mixture, maintain moisture levels during the germination period and be patient. Start 8-10 weeks before last frost. Matures in 85 days.
