Latin Zinnia elegans
The Envy Zinnia's lime green flower is the perfect flower contrast for those high impact zinnias that you already have in your garden. We love planting these with our Purple Zinnia collection as a strong contrast to the vibrant purples. Not only do they amplify the purple flowers, they greatly increase their lustre. These are the perfect stand-alone or compliment flower to any colourful mixtures that you have, zinnias or other. Use these as border flowers, in beds or in containers. There really is no bad spot for the Envy Zinnia.
Growing zinnias from seed is very easy. We recommend directly sowing zinnia seed into prepared beds but they can also be started early if you want to get a head start on the season. Start indoors 4 weeks before last frost by lightly covering them with a starting mixture. Maintain moisture levels throughout germination period. Once nighttime temperatures are consistently above 10 degrees Celsius you can plant outdoors in a full sun location. Remember to maintain moisture levels throughout the season but ensure that you do not water from above as zinnias are prone to powdery mildew.
