Latin pisum sativum
The Dwarf Grey Sugar Pea is one of the best additions to the northern home garden. This variety delivers the earliest dwarf pods of all pea varieties. Before producing the sweet and tender 3" pods, highly attractive purple flowers adorn the vines. This is one of the oldest heirloom varieties of peas, dating back to the 18th century. Vines will reach to a mature height of approximately 5'. Pick early to prevent pods from getting tough.
Growing peas from seed is very easy and should be directly sown into garden. Wait until the risk of frost has subsided before planting. Dwarf varieties do not need trellising but can benefit from it especially if space is an issue. Using a garden inoculant will help with production especially in the first few seasons of planting peas/legumes. Matures 66 days.
